I am Louise Rooney, a wedding and funeral celebrant serving Anglesey and North Wales. I write and conduct personal, heartfelt ceremonies for weddings, elopements, vow renewals, funerals and memorial services.
I am trained and accredited in both funeral and wedding ceremonies by Humanists UK. Because of that, you can be confident that I work to a required standard, I am regularly assessed by my peers and I undertake ongoing professional development.
Every ceremony is carefully created around the people involved, reflecting their personalities, relationships, stories and memories in a meaningful and authentic way.
I provide celebrant services throughout Anglesey, along the North Wales coast and into the North West of England. I can also travel further afield by arrangement.
How I Became a Celebrant
My journey into celebrancy began after my mum and dad passed away within a short time of one another. As neither of them was religious, we chose to hold a joint funeral led by a celebrant and centred around a celebration of their lives. It felt completely right for them.
I wrote some words for the ceremony and watched the celebrant guide us through the service on the day. I remember thinking, “I would love to do that.”
In 2023, I had the opportunity to retrain. I first trained to conduct funerals, memorials and celebrations of life, before expanding my services to include weddings, elopements and vow renewals. I have not looked back since.
